It was July 4th, 1776 when we adopted our Declaration of Independence; independence from government control.
Today, most folks simply call it the “Fourth of July” or “The Fourth”. Let’s remind ourselves of what we are celebrating and remember it as our “Independence Day”.
Cherish your independence and fight to keep it!
Happy Independence Day!
That being said MGT; both you and Kimmer write so well and are well versed in so many subjects that I'd love to see a book about the Motor City Rock history. Or whatever you chose. I think you could almost compile one out of your archives without breaking a sweat!
No other band is more closely associated with the 1960s hippie, free love, abundant drug, activism movement than Detroit's MC5. The hard rocking five-piece band poured body and soul into formenting a social-psychoactive revolution that they hoped would reshape the buttoned down, conventional landscape of contemporary American culture. The MC5 was founded on the notion that rules are to be broken and they became the very embodiment of no-holds-barred rock and roll.

We bought a bunch of fireworks and relaxed in the backyard with family to celebrate the 4th tonight.
I'm glad the French helped us kick the Brits' asses, so now I don't have to worry about fighting for it.
Budweiser, huge cars, and fireworks! Oh, hot dogs and hamburgers, too.
