I seen MC5 at the State Fair Grounds R&R Revival. David Peel was playing under the bleechers - the drummer used a suitcase for a bass drum ( pretty neat ). I was 15-16 years old. My brother's X-Bass player was in Wilson Moore Pursuit/ Jennette Beto ,girl bass player. My Bro Fred was in Vietnam. Doctor John the night tripper was there-OK, I liked that "patriotic flag waiver" song on Babylon album. The Stooges played too - the crowd was heckling Iggy.
Ted Nugent tried to springboard over his stack of wired Fender Twin Reverbs but did'nt make it!!! He Crashed on his ass and layed there- I think he done one song and left in embarressment. I liked the Amboy Dukes , seen em once live and they were really good - I never liked Ted alone. I was glad he fell on his ego inflated ass.
Well finally the MC5 came out - Rambling Rose - Wow!!! Kicking it Out. Then Right Now - The Speech - Kick ou The Jams - at the Same time a large afro guy Butt naked jumped on stage - I thought it was part of the Show!!! Great!
The MC5 let him stay a while - he was soon covered and taken away. The MC5 blew em all away like always ..High energy !!!! it takes 5 seconds ......etc.. This was my 1st encounter with MC5 . Great Memories. Thanx

Hi Dennis! You are a really good writer! I have a photo album I found from the New Order days with a picture of one of the 3 stooges with a couple of guys.I am going to dig that up.Dave is not in it but I think you are? What a time that had to be!
He has told me stories.Wow!
I am recording alot of it that he left me when he wrote his life story prior to his death and by the way Dave went out Clean and Sober.I am so glad for that.
Thank you for the blog.I liked it alot.
Will you be attending Jimmy and Bee's C.D. release gig? If so, I would love to meet you in person and would bring you the album or could get it to you somehow if you are interested. Bless :) D.G.
