MC5 BUTTONS KOTJS INSERT

The insert for Kick Out Jams by the MC5 is a button hall of famer where the White Panthers wear their hearts in the form of badges on their bare chests. Buttons have been a “well-rounded” way to show dissent since the 1800s, to the 1960s, to present day (more here). Pin out the jams, brothers and sisters.

when i was only 8 yrs old
MY BROTHER AND MY MOM TOOK ME TO SEE THE MC5,
AT THE GRANDE BALLROOM, I CAME FROM THE OLD POLISH NEIGHBORHOOD AT 31ST AND BUCHANAN, [MICHIGAN LIVERNOIS AREA].
WE MOVED TO DEARBORN IN THE MID 60s, I CAN STILL RECALL MY FIRST CONCERT WITH YOU GUYS, AND THE FLAMIN GROOVIES, MY MOTHER PUT HER HANDS OVER MY EARS SO I WOULDNT HEAR THE M'FERS, BOTH MY BROTHERS WERE WHITE PANTHERS AND MY ONE BROTHER LIVED ON PLUM STREET WITH YOU GUYS. BOTH WERE IN THE AUDIENCE FOR THE LIVE ALBUM.
ALL MY BUDS TELL ME IM A BULLSHITTER WHEN I TELL THEM THIS STORY,
BUT THE FACT REMAINS THE MC5 WAS MY FIRST CONCERT, AND FOR ALL THE DAYS I LIVE, IT WILL BE A CHERISHED MEMORY...
JUST WANTED TO SAY THANX FOR BEING IN THE 5 WHEN I WAS ONLY 8 YRS OLD,
ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF MY YOUNG LIFE'
