MY DEAR FRIEND MICHAEL DAVIS PASSED AWAY
I will miss Michael Davis dearly. If it wasn't for his steadiness, I would have had a much more difficult time with my style of free form drumming. Last year when we played at a festival in France with the Stooges, Mike was on crutches but he trooped right on through.
We also spoke to each other on the deepest of levels I can remember. I love you Mike! Please say a little prayer for Angela ( Mike's wife) and Mike's four children, Ursula Rane, Aljoshua, Sinjin, and Gabriel.
Thank you everyone.

I'm so sorry to hear this; all blessings to his family. I hope he's kicking out the jams with Rob Tyner and Sonic Smith right now.
I knew you guys back in Detroit. The MC5 are a very big part of what made me what I am still today! Kdeep on keepin on!
What a shame! Not only that he passed away, but that he barely got a 2 minute TV newsclip regarding his death. He was a member of one of the greatest bands of all time, RIP Mike, and KOTJ forever!
What a great bass player, what a great person. I think of Michael as Michael " Thunder " Davis...I heard someone call him that once. The into to Looking at You says it all...rock solid right there. The MC5 has never gotten their due...but those of us in the know rank The 5 up there with the best. The Rock and Roll HOF is incomplete without the MC5, how can that be? Guess it doesnt matter, cause we know the Truth. I'm sure "Thunder" is sitting and laughing with "Sonic" and Rob, having a blast....and think fondly of "Machine Gun" and "Brother Wayne". KOTJMF!!!!!!
MD Forever!

It's so sad ! I'm very sorry to hear about this loss.
I offer you my deepest condolences...
Dennis,
I was shocked hearing the news about the loss of your dear friend. I'm thinking of Michael and all you guys a lot...which I do, anyway. But now more than ever.
Best wishes to his family and to you, too Dennis.

Respect and condolences. Music Is Revolution!
Back in the fall of '77, Destroy All Monsters and the Sillies played at East Quad in A2. I played guitar in a pickup band that opened the show.
When I got there that evening, I noticed Dennis Thompson was hanging out and so ran back to my apt, got the jacket to my copy of High Time, and Mike Davis and Dennis were kind enough to sign it for me. Shortly after, I learned our bass player showed up sans instrument !?! Thus I found myself in the awkward position of asking to borrow the bass of the guy I had just asked for his autograph. Mike lent us his bass- Rick something or other- and we played our set.
RIP Mike, thanks for the bass loaner. Deepest condolences to your family and many friends.
Chris G.
