Thanks a lot Dennis, that's really moving to have such an astonishing musician as you online. Your solos on "Loose" and "November 22" on the official "First and the Last" album will make your name live forever among the first class drummers of the golden age of rock. I've been aware of your blog since the Barman began to write some words about it on his own blog and I've been an avid reader of your story of the New Order. As far as I can remember it was very interesting to learn about the (very) humble beginnings of the band, the Amboy Dukes connection (no kidding but that's me who created the New Order page on wikipedia ! ah ! ah ! ah !) with K.J Knight, and maybe also the Dick Clark horn section thing, the above the average skills of Jimmy Recca on bass, stuff like that. I only thought it lacked details on the very last concert of the New Order because Ron Asheton explained in his story of the band (I refer for that to the booklet that came with the Revenge CD in the fall of the 80's) that Van Halen was doing the first part and most of all that Kim Fowley was about to give the band a hand to be hired by a major label. Maybe ' Mr Bad ' knows the truth.

Well hello there Lord Thompson. I was directed to your blog and what a fantastic thing you're doing. I just lost an hour of my Saturday afternoon going through your archives and will be heading to your place often to check out your sage thoughts. I've recently started blogging about alternative and/or radical people and moments in history and while i've not yet figured out some of the tech aspects (unlike yourself - i'm impressed!), so far i'm digging it. you gotta love the internet.

julian and i have just taken delivery of 'the mc5 and social change'. as you point out, much has been written on the MC5 but to my mind no book has yet nailed it. i see you've rated this one, so i've got high hopes.

i hope all is well with you, and that we might see you and the dkt on this side of the pond soon.
